On November 4, 2016, the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) held the 2016 Ramanu Gold Award ceremony and a series of activities to commemorate Ramanujan, a talented young Indian mathematician. At the award ceremony, ICTP Director Fernando Quevedo and the current review committee chairman Stefano Luzzatto formally awarded the 2016 Ramanu Gold Award to Professor Xu Chenyang from the Beijing International Mathematics Research Center of Peking University.
After the award ceremony, Xu Chenyang gave an academic report entitled “Classification of Algebraic Varieties” (Classification of Algebraic Varieties).
